About this course

This engaging and interactive, face-to-face course is designed for aspiring artists to progress their drawing skills and develop their creativity further. Drawing is not only a skill but a fantastic way to relax, express yourself, and explore new ideas.

Your will be guided to build your skills and confidence, focusing on subjects like composition, techniques and sketching: 

- Analyse examples of good drawing of different artists 

- Understand basic drawing techniques, including line, shape, form, and shading. 

- Learn the essentials of creating depth and accurate proportions in your drawings. 

- Explore various drawing tools and materials, from graphite pencils to charcoal and ink. 

- Develop your unique style  

- Complete several exercises a final project

Resources required:

  • An HB and B pencil (or a set of graphite pencils)
  • Pencil crayon

The art materials are to be discussed during the first session of the course when the tutor will cover the topic.

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).  As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:

  • Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield
