This course is aimed at novice patchworkers, who have attended a Patchwork for Absolute Beginners’ course with Inspire or who have a little experience in this absorbing craft and would like to develop their skills. We shall use the English Paper Piecing method of hand stitching patchwork to create a four block design which can be used to make a cushion cover, a bag or the beginnings of a quilt.
By the end of this course, learners will have completed or will be able to complete a cushion, bag or quilt. Learners will know how to draft a design for a four-block patchwork item. They will be confident in working various shapes and sizes of patchwork design. Learners will also develop skills in combining colours and prints in a patchwork design.
