About this course

This course aims to refresh your maths skills for supporting your everyday life. It will help you gain confidence in converting fractions to decimals, which will help when using rounding and estimation – an important life skill. You will also refresh your skills on multiplication and division. 


During this course you will:

Introduced to fractions, decimals, division and multiplication.

Understand and try to use the methods of converting fractions to decimals 

Know the possible ways of using fractions and decimals in our daily life. 

Identify why and how rounding and estimation are useful to us 

Practise rounding and estimating numbers with great tips 

Look into the real-world maths related to rounding and estimation 

Understand and use methods to divide and multiply in different contexts.


This course is for people who don't have a level 2 qualification in maths (GCSE grade C/4 or above). You will self-declare this on the enrolment form.


Please bring - pen/pencil and notepad.

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

You should be redirected to the Inspire Online Enrolment Form after completing the Eventbrite booking.  If you are not redirected, please use the link supplied in the Eventbrite booking confirmation email.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
