About this course

This is a short unaccredited course which will provide students with the confidence to keep safe whilst working online.  

Students will follow safe and secure practices when working online as well as looking after their own data and knowing up to dates rules and regulations, as well as phishing, and firewalls.  


No prior working knowledge of using the internet is needed, but basic internet skills would be useful. 


By the end of this course the learners will be able to do a range of things including: 

  • Keep information secure 
  • Manage personal access to online sources securely 
  • Work responsibly when working online 
  • Identify common threats to information security 
  • Identify common threats to user safety 
  • Follow relevant laws, guidelines, and procedures for the use of the Internet 
  • Phishing 
  • Firewalls

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).  As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
