About this course

This course will support you to enjoy learning about and using your phone camera. The course will include some short walks around the local area to take photographs. This course assumes learners have no previous experience of photography. During the course you will learn how to find your mobile camera app and locate your images in your gallery. You will gain confidence with the range of settings within your camera e.g. portrait, photo, panoramic or pano, professional mode and simple video settings. and learn which setting to use for particular situation. The course will include a brief introduction to the exposure triangle and opportunities each week to explore different compositions. What will learners achieve by the end of the course? Learners will be able to identify at least 5 settings available to them on their Smartphone camera and practice using them. Learners will create a range of images using at least 2 different filters on their smartphone camera. Learners will explore 3 composition techniques and discuss how these change their images. Learners will find and use video settings to create a range of short videos using the settings available on their Smartphone. Learners will discuss and compare two images each week and explain to the group why they chose the two images.
