About this course

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

• Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been a resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in the UK with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

The aim of the course is to provide basic language skills to enable the use of a phrase book. 

It is suitable for adults who want more guidance on their pronunciation and how to learn important phrases for getting by in a modern foreign language.  The course is designed for absolute beginners and no previous knowledge is required. 

What will be covered on the course?  What will be taught to learners? 

• Basic topics will be covered, such as, the alphabet, introductions and greetings, ordering food and drinks, telling the time, basic numbers, being polite, likes and dislikes, and shopping.  Listening to questions and giving a suitable answer, asking questions and listening to the answer, and repetition of key vocabulary, will be essentials. Grammar support will be given. Writing down key vocabulary and phrases will be encouraged. Speaking and listening will be a main focus in order to communicate effectively. 

As this course is online learners will require access to a laptop, smart phone, computer or tablet.  The course will be accessed through Zoom.  You will also require a notebook and pen.
