About this course

The aim of the course is to help total beginners to communicate and enjoy their holiday in Spain or Spanish speaking country. The learners will be able at the end of the 10 weeks to greet people, introduce themselves to others, order food and drink (of course ask for the bill), get and give simple directions and do some basic shopping. All these topics will be done in conversational Spanish with some basic grammar but mainly embedded in the topic and the practical exercises.

Greetings, basic conversation to introduce yourself to others
Asking for drinks and food (asking for the bill)
Numbers, days of the week, months of the year
Basic shopping
Basic directions

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?

To be able to communicate with people in Spain and enjoy the experience of eating out or going shopping using Spanish

What skills or knowledge do learners already need to have to attend the course?

This is a total beginners class so there is no need for previous knowledge of Spanish

You will need:

Paper, pen and if possible the book DK 15 minutes Spanish with comes with an app.

Please note: This course will not be running 20th and 27th October

As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course. Zoom will be used for the live sessions and the link will be sent to you once your enrolment has been completed.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
