About this course

The course will introduce some of the basic structures of the language through topics related to social and everyday life in Spain and Latin American countries. The aim is to enable students to function at a basic everyday survival level.

Learners will be taught:

Alphabet, pronunciation, and the Hispanic world
Greetings and introductions (saying hello and goodbye, introducing yourself and asking someone’s name)
How to give and request personal information (age, nationality, marital status, occupation, etc.)
How to talk about family and relationships
How to describe your city or town
How to talk about the weather
What will learners achieve by the end of the course? What are your learning outcomes?

By the end of the course, learners will be able to communicate in very basic everyday-life situations. At the same time, they will have developed an understanding of modern-day Spain and Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America.

What skills or knowledge do learners already need to have to attend the course?

This course is aimed at learners with no previous knowledge of Spanish. Nonetheless, it is important that learners can read and write in English.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
