About this course

Spring is coming and the warmer weather is here why not introduce macrame into your home.  Macrame is relaxing and therapeutic craft, as it keeps your hands busy and gives your mind time to rest.   

You will you've developed your skills of knots that you may have well for being introduced to in the beginner's course.  in this case this course is based on projects themed spring and Easter feel.   

Within the course learners will gain an understanding of; 

  • Macrame equipment 
  • Macrame knots 

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?  

  • Be able to Identity and demonstrate the basic Macrame Knots – Larks Head  & Gathering knot 
  • Be able to Identity and demonstrate the basic Macrame Knots – Square Knot & Half Knot 
  • Be able to Identity and demonstrate the basic Macrame Knots – Endless Fall Knot, and additional knots  
  • Be able to Identity and demonstrate the basic Macrame Knots - Double Half Hitch 
  • Develop/Use counting skills & measuring – Be able to measure cord required for the projects 
  • Completed some Spring Theme projects in Macrame 
  • Develop/improve their eye and hand coordination 
  • Analyse the benefits of creative activities to improved mental health 

 None of the items are essential but the ones with (*)= recommend to get the best of the course 

Materials & Equipment Required: 

  • Macrame cord (*) - require 3 or 5mm twisted ply cord (requirements for projects) 
  • Beads 
  • Knotting Board/Cork board  
  • T – Pins or holding pins (useful but not essential – tutor has some to use in class)

  • Scissors

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
