About this course

This course is a beginner guide to cupcake decorating. You will learn skills and techniques using ready to roll icing and sugar florist paste mixed together or modelling paste, to produce animal cupcake toppers.

Learners will have produced a selection of animal themed decorations to enhance any celebration cupcake. During the session we will:

Produce a fondant animal topper
Learn how to pipe buttercream on to a cupcake

You will need:

Cupcakes
Buttercream
Piping bag and nozzle of choice
Baby Giraffe -Ready to roll icing fondant 90g and squires sugar florist paste 70g mixed or modelling paste- white.
Board and rolling pin
Corn flour pouch
Modelling tools – ball tool, dresden tool,
Edible glue
Foam pad
Cocktail stick
Skewer
Craft knife or small knife
Paint brushes
Wire cutters
Small scales
Body 3 different size balls, 1 ball 145g approx.- Sunflower yellow, 55g Head, 60g Body, 10g x 2 Back legs, 6g x 2 Front legs.
2 smaller balls one dark brown and one lighter brown. Small amount of paste black and white
Dusting powders colouring, dusty pink or peach for rosy checks.
Dusting powders cream and yellow lemon for shadows.
