About this course

This course is an advanced guide to making a poinsettia.

You will learn skills and techniques using sugar florist paste to create a beautiful Christmas flower. This flower can also be created to celebrate a winter wedding. This flower will enhance any special celebrational Christmas cake.

By attending the course, you will learn:

• How to create a centre red stamen using red cotton.

• How to create the centre using yellow (ball) and green (cone).

• How to create six centre small leaves.

• How to create 12 coloured bracts (sets of five various sizes)

• How to create the outer part of the poinsettia green, and tape together.

Learners will produce a poinsettia to decorate and enhance any special celebration Christmas cake. Some previous experience will be required to attend the course.

Corn flour pouch for dusting
Yellow colour
Green colour
Edible glue
Red cotton thread or white –(dust red and yellow into the white cotton)
Paintbrushes
26-gauge wire
Florist tape green
Ball tool
Petal cell pad

Small palette knife
Snowflake or preferred dusting powders red dusting powder to dust the bracts, dark green to dust the bracts, Aubergine to dust the bracts and dusting brush
