About this course

This course is an intermediate to sugar craft flower making. You will progress with familiar skills and learn new techniques using sugar florist paste to produce winter aconite flowers the perfect edition to any celebration cake during the springtime. 


This course is an intermediate to sugar craft flower making. You will progress with familiar skills and learn new techniques using sugar florist paste to produce winter aconite flowers the perfect edition to any celebration cake during the springtime. These beautiful yellow buttercup like flower is an early flower with unusual leaves.  


What will learners achieve by the end of the course?  

  • Produce the centre stamens for the winter aconite  
  • Produce the inner layer of petals to secure the stamens of the winter aconite 
  • Produce the petals adding texture and realism  
  • Produce the calyx for the winter aconite 
  • Learn how to dust the flower to add dimension  

Learners will have produced a winter aconite flower to enhance any Springtime celebration cake.


Resources required by attendees:

  • Floral paste by squires- Yellow and green 
  • Snowdrop cutter – the outer edge of the Snowdrop cutter  
  • Daisy Cutter  
  • 26-gauge wire 
  • Rolling pin 
  • Edible glue  
  • Edible tints- Yellow- primrose, or sugartex and green     
  • Tweezers 
  • Ball tool  
  • Fine scissors  
  • Wire cutters  
  • Dresden tool  
  • Cocktail stick   
  • Stamens white or Cotton white  
  • Floral tape green  
  • Foam mat 
  • Paintbrushes

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.
