Venue | Newark Buttermarket |
Join us at our new venue, Newark Buttermarket, for a day of drawing and creating. The Big Draw 2023 Festival theme #DrawingwithSenses explores the way we personally process the world and internalise our experiences through our senses. Newark Creates Artist in Residence James Mayle will be running drop in art sessions where everyone can learn techniques to design their own graffiti letterforms, and then go on to create their own individual piece of A3 street-art-inspired artwork to take home using graffiti paint markers.
This year we have joined forces with the Miner2Major
Landscape Partnership Scheme to help leave
a legacy of artworks in key locations across
Sherwood Forest, inspired by and drawing from the work created in our Big Draw workshops.
This work is part of a wider national project working with renowned portrait photographer, Alistair Morrison. Alistair has created Time to Connect, to photograph people and places around the UK, and Nottinghamshire is delighted to be part of this journey!
