Each month, we highlight a volunteering opportunity to tell you a little more about it. This month's role is the newly create Inspire Ambassador

If you're an advocate for culture, heritage or learning within your community, and a good communicator who would like to learn more about the services Inspire offers and talk about them with others, we might have the perfect volunteering opportunity for you.

We're looking for Inspire Ambassadors to promote and talk about our services to their friends, family and wider social circle. Perhaps you are a member of a parents’ group and you’d like to tell them about the Rattle, Rhyme and Roll session at your local library? Or maybe you’ve attended an Inspire Learning course and would like to tell your friends about other courses on offer? Perhaps you’ve attended a family history talk, or an Inspire Youth Arts performance, or you’ve joined in with the Big Draw, or you’ve worked with our Way2Work team… if you’ve interacted with our services and you’d like to share your experiences and promote what we do to those around you, then we want to hear from you!

Inspire delivers a number of services across Nottinghamshire, including Arts and Culture, Learning and Skills, Heritage, and Reading and Libraries. Our mission is to inspire people to read, learn and enjoy culture, and we’d like to create a volunteer team of Inspire Ambassadors to promote this mission in their community.

As an Inspire Ambassador, you might do any of the following:

  • Help to deliver flyers, leaflets or posters around the community
  • Share posts about Inspire on your social media, and on local social media pages
  • Support Inspire open days, events, and groups, speaking to attendees about Inspire and the services we offer
  • Share information about Inspire with your friends, family, colleagues, schools and any community groups you attend
  • Encourage people to access our services, signposting them to our buildings, website or Ask Inspire
  • Feedback to us about what you and your community would like to see from Inspire

If you are passionate about Inspire and our work then we would love to hear from you! Just go to our volunteering website, fill in your details, and a member of our team will be in touch. This role can be built around you and how much time you have to give, all of which will go towards inspiring people to read, learn and enjoy culture in their community.
