Towns Fund Investment for Kirkby-in-Ashfield Library

Published 6th March 2023

Kirkby-in-Ashfield Library will be closed on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March so that preparation work for improvements to provide an exciting new learning and meeting space can be carried out. The library will re-open on Friday 17th March.

In June 2021, the Government announced a £62.6 million investment for Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Sutton-in-Ashfield as part of the Government’s Towns Fund.

Kirkby-in-Ashfield Library is one of two projects in Ashfield to provide information and digital, cultural and community services to support a wide range of activity and to facilitate innovation, learning and cultural programmes, and community activity, with a focus on entry level digital skills.

The project will help local people enhance their digital skills and get help into training and employment by providing digital access and access to technology, a job seeker/employability hub and Information Advice and Guidance services. Adult, family learning and skills programmes will also be available, as well as community led activity through Inspire’s ‘community makers’ programme.
