Getting to Nottinghamshire Archives

Nottinghamshire Archives is a five-minute walk from Nottingham Train Station. From the Station, turn right onto Carrington Street. Cross Carrington Street at the zebra crossing and turn left along the canal towpath (passing the Magistrates Court).

The path forks opposite the old British Waterways warehouse, take the left-hand path leading away from the canal. Nottinghamshire Archives is immediately on the left. For more information visit National Rail Enquiries  or East Midlands Trains.

Alight at Carrington Street (outside Nottingham station) or Broadmarsh Shopping Centre and follow the walking directions from Nottingham Train Station or from the city centre. For information about travelling by bus in Nottingham visit Nottingham City Transport, Trent Barton Buses or YourBus. 

From the Broadmarsh Shopping Centre turn right onto Collin Street. Cross Collin Street and continue past Ocean nightclub until you reach another set of traffic lights. Cross right onto the traffic island and then cross again so that you are facing the Parexel building. Turn right and then take an immediate left onto Wilford Street. After 100m you cross a canal bridge. Nottinghamshire Archives is on your left after the bridge.

From M1

Follow A453, Queens Drive, Wilford Street. At traffic lights turn right onto Castle Meadow Road (before crossing canal bridge).  Immediately turn left into our car park.  Please note the entrance is concealed from the road and you have gone too far if you reach the small island.

From City Centre

From Maid Marian Way follow the one-way system onto Collin Street. Turn right at the next junction and right again onto Canal Street, following the signs for ‘Other Routes (W)’. Continue along Canal Street and turn left onto Wilford Street. At the traffic lights after the canal bridge turn left onto Castle Meadow Road. Immediately turn left into our car park.  Please note the entrance is concealed from the road and you have gone too far if you reach the small island.

We have a small car park which is available to customers on a first come, first serve basis only.  You may park if there is a designated space available.  If the car park is full, you must use alternative city centre parking.

Parking for bicycles is available outside our main entrance.
