About this course

This beginners course will teach you the basic crochet techniques whilst creating some small projects for Christmas.  You will learn how to follow simple patterns and use basic crochet stitches to develop your work.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

• Read yarn labels
• Consider different types of yarn and colours
• Understand the basics of crochet
• Learn basic crochet stitches, how to start from a foundation chain and how to start from a circle and work in a round
• Understand basic crochet abbreviations
• Gain an introduction to reading basic patterns

To participate in this course, you will require:

• 4.50mm hook
• double knitting yarn (in Christmas colours - white is easier to see than darker colours)

If learners have any difficulties with their hands and movement, it is suggested that they try a larger crochet hook (8mm), and use chunky yarn.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
