About this course

Building on the foundations of Creative Writing for Beginners, this course gives you the opportunity to both practice skills you have acquired, as well as tackle new activities and types of creative of writing. The course will also give you more scope to practice your feedback skills, and to start to use your reading as part of your writing. This is an intermediate course. To get the most from the course, it is advisable to have done some creative writing before, perhaps Inspire’s Writing for Beginners or First Steps,  

Over the duration of the course, you will: 

• - Reading as a writer 
• - Develop feedback skills and being able to use others’ feedback to develop your work 
• - Develop techniques to develop rounded characters 
• - Tackle convincing dialogue 
• - Write short pieces that are developed into longer stories  
• - Develop your writing practice, thinking about how you want to develop as a writer      

To participate on this course, you will need an A4 notebook and a pen/pencil

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
