About this course

Spreadsheets don’t have to be scary! Whether you're looking to manage a household budget, organise information for work, or simply grow your digital confidence, this beginner-friendly course is the perfect place to start.

Designed for adults with little or no experience of Excel, the course takes you through the basics in a relaxed and supportive environment. You’ll learn how to navigate the Excel screen, enter and format text and numbers, and begin using simple formulas to make everyday calculations easier. As you build your confidence, you’ll explore how to organise data into clear tables, create simple charts and graphs, and format your spreadsheet for better readability and impact.

This course focuses on practical, real-life uses for Excel, whether at home, at work, or in study and offers clear, step-by-step guidance with plenty of hands-on support. No previous knowledge is required, just a willingness to learn something new.

It’s a great first step towards using spreadsheets with confidence, and a useful digital skill for many areas of life.

This course for adults is funded by the UK Government through the Shared Prosperity Fund.
