About this course

Suitable for beginners, this course will guide you through creating different fabric flowers that can be used for a variety of different purposes. The flowers could be used to adorn headbands, used as brooches, be sewn onto cushion covers, or made into decorative garlands or hanging decorations.

Within the course you will be taught:

Different methods to construct and assemble flowers from a variety of fabric
Decorative techniques

No prior knowledge is required.

Simple hand sewing techniques

Resources required for this course

A selection of coloured felt pieces (a flower will require one or two coloured A4 sheets of the main colours and a smaller piece of black felt or other colour for the centre of the flower)
Organza fabric (approximately 12” x12” squares)
A selection of cotton or cotton-mix fabric pieces (small scrap pieces or any fabric you’d like to make a flower from)
A variety of buttons for flower centres
A pair of fabric scissors
A basic sewing kit with a needle and pins would be useful
Dressmakers’ thread (to match felt or cotton being used)
