About this course

Based at the inspirational venue - Hockerton Housing Project, you will take part in a series of 3 sessions, growing, harvesting and preserving seasonal produce. We will work together in a supportive atmosphere and in a hands-on experiential setting.

Hockerton Housing project is a working farm/small holding with unpaved surfaces. The session will mainly be outside but we will always have the option to go inside in poor weather.

Dive into practical self-sufficiency and sustainable wellbeing.  Learn how to tend, harvest and process fruits and vegetables from an inspiring community farm. Taste and take-home foods picked and processed in the session and build a wealth of knowledge, inspiration and social connections that you can cultivate in your own garden and community.

Learners should bring:

  • All weather clothing for practical outdoor tasks.
  • Sturdy boots.
  • Waterproof coat.
  • Preserving jars/bottles/containers (specific guidance to be given at the time).
