During this one-day course you will learn to apply different massage techniques to provide a relaxing and de-stressing treatment to the head, neck and shoulders.
Indian Head Massage is an extremely effective therapy that has evolved from traditional techniques practiced in India as part of family rituals for over a thousand years.
This massage works on areas of the body particularly prone to stress, especially the neck and the shoulders where tension affects major muscle groups, it can often bring immediate relief.
These tensions are eased and fibrous knots and nodules melt away, no expensive equipment is required making it available to all.
No previous knowledge of Indian Head Massage is required to attend this course.
Almond oil is used for the treatment so please ensure that there is no allergy contraindication. If you have an allergy, please contact the tutor before the course starts to discuss alternatives.
What will learners achieve by the end of the course?
The learner will demonstrate the correct sequence of an Indian Head Massage, including consultation, preparation, massage techniques and aftercare.
The learner will perform the full treatment sequence with at least 90% of the required techniques completed correctly and without prompting.
By practising during demonstrations and supervised sessions, the learner will develop the practical skills needed to perform the treatment safely on a friend or family member.
The learner will understand the benefits, limitations and contraindications of Indian Head Massage so they can provide a safe, professional and appropriate treatment.
By the end of the course, the learner will be able to complete a full Indian Head Massage treatment within the allocated treatment time and meet the course's practical assessment criteria.
