About this course

About this course

This beginner’s course is designed to teach a range of jewellery skills, as well as design techniques, so that you can make a range of well-designed jewellery items.

By the end of this course, you will have used a range of techniques and processes to create some unique jewellery pieces you will be proud to wear or give as gifts.  Techniques that we will cover include:

  • Using tools safely and effectively
  • Stringing beads, using crimp and findings
  • Design & colour
  • Making a variety of jewellery pieces: drop earrings, single strand necklaces, bracelets, handbag charms
  • Recycling old jewellery and making your own beads

Learners are invited to bring a selection of beads, new or old (such as any recycled beads from broken or old jewellery). A jewellery making kit containing wire cutting pliers, round nosed pliers and chain nosed pliers and any jewellery findings would be useful (eBay, Amazon).
