Jigsaw Miniprints for tote bags, cards and images.
Jigsaw Lino Printing is an ideal process to for both beginners and experienced printmakers. It is a simple relief printing process that works through developing and using graphic contrast and mark making skills and is the perfect technique for creating hand-made, professional quality printed bags, cards and images.
During the course you will be introduced to the basic techniques needed to make a traditional monotone, contrast image and print it. You will then cut your lino into sections and ink up each section in a different colour, put them back together (jigsaw) and print in a range of colourways.
Once you have selected the colours you want, you can print your tote bag, cards or a straightforward image.
You will learn and explore the process through looking at and discussing other printmakers work and by demonstrations, personal experimentation and individual tuition on how to design, cut and print your lino blocks onto paper, cards and bags.
By the end of the course everyone will have produced good quality printed Tote bags, hand-printed cards and images to give as gifts, sell or exhibit.
What will learners achieve by the end of the course?
You will be able to:
• Design, cut and print an effective monotone and colour jigsaw lino print.
• Discuss the range of different approaches and techniques used by practicing printmakers.
• Use printmaking equipment and the press safely.
• Use your own creative skills and ability to produce quality finished work.
• Use art and design language effectively to describe your own work.
