This beginner’s course has been created to support learners who are new to smartphones and would like to learn more about money-saving apps.
What will be covered on the course?
Over this 3-hour course, you will, look at different money saving deals and smartphone navigation. Our friendly, experienced tutors will gently guide your through ways to use your smartphone to help you access budget friendly deals. As beginners, you will have the opportunity to engage in group activities, with like-minded learners, that focus on the maths calculations needed to understand what different deals offer and simple smartphone navigation.
By the end of the course, you will be able to,
- download a money saving app
- use a comparison website to save money
- access smartphone features, such as, the calculator and calendar
What skills or knowledge do learners already need to have to attend the course?
This course is for people who don’t already have a level 2 qualification in maths (GCSE C/4 or above) or are not confident in using maths at this level.
This is an adult only course.
The course is aimed at learners new to smartphones and the content will be at a beginner level.
All learners will need their own smartphone to use during the course.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.
Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
