About this course

About this course

Do you want to increase your sense of rhythm and timing?

Want to be part of a group that will learn how to understand the exciting links between mathematics and music?

If so, Music Maestros is for you.

What are the aims of the course?

This series of sessions has been designed to enable you to interactively engage in learning some theory of music and being able to take steps to becoming a maestro and be ‘in tune’ with your creative side. Your tutor will help boost your confidence with numbers used in playing notes and resting between them.

What will be covered on the course?

You will,

  • Look at different types of ‘bar’ within music and learn how each one is broken down into fractions.
  • group activities will allow you to turn the theory into reality.
  • boost your mental health and confidence with numbers

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?

By boosting your confidence with counting and dividing, you will be able to appreciate the strong links between mathematics and music, whilst presenting an item for others to hear.

What skills or knowledge do learners already need to have to attend the course?

This course is for people who don’t have a level 2 qualification in maths (GCSE C/4 or above). You will self-declare this on the enrolment form.

On completion of this course, you will be entered into a monthly prize draw. The winner will receive food shopping vouchers.

There will be a break of one week on 1st December 2023. This is a 5-week course spread over 6-weeks.
