About this course

On this course students will learn how to sew a selection of patchwork designs and how to make those up into a quilt adding sashing and bindings. They will also learn the important Health and Safety aspects of the equipment they will use along with how crucial accuracy is to a good finished piece.

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?

Explain how to safely use a rotary cutter and associated tools
Produce samples of at least 2 different patchwork designs
Describe at least 2 different ways to quilt a piece of work
Create a sample using sashing techniques
Discover how to back and bind a quilted piece

What skills or knowledge do learners already need to have to attend the course?

Students will need to have basic sewing skills with a sewing machine prior to the course

You will need:

Sewing kit including scissors and unpicker, Fabrics, wadding, threads

PLEASE NOTE- The final session will start at 9:30am until 1:00pm
