About this course

About this course

This course is for adult learners to learn how to use free computer software (GIMP) to make changes to improve their digital photos.

During the course, we will look at:

  • Retouching: healing small blemishes (scratches, spots etc…)
  • Using filters e.g., red-eye removal filter
  • Improving the colours (adjusting black point/white point, hue & saturation, brightness & contrast etc.…)

NOTE: this is not a photography course, we will not be taking any photographs

Resources required by attendees

Laptops can be provided, but leaners may bring their own windows or Apple laptops at their own risk.

(note: Chromebook and tablet style computers are not suitable as GIMP is not available on these)
