About this course

In this fun and practical course, you will start speaking Spanish from day one!

You’ll learn how to introduce yourself, talk about your daily routine, order food, ask for directions, and chat about hobbies – all through everyday situations.

With a strong focus on speaking and listening, you'll build useful vocabulary and get confident using the present tense.

You'll also explore the culture and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries to bring the language to life.

This Spanish Beginners course is designed for complete beginners or those with very little prior knowledge of the language.

No previous experience is needed – just a willingness to join in and practise!

Throughout the course, you will develop basic communication skills to help you navigate everyday situations in Spanish-speaking countries.

You will learn how to:

  • Greet people and introduce yourself.

  • Talk about yourself and others, including age, nationality, and family.

  • Ask and answer simple questions.

  • Order food and drinks in cafés and restaurants.

  • Ask for and understand directions.

  • Talk about daily routines and leisure activities.

  • Use numbers, dates, times, and days of the week.

  • Describe likes, dislikes, and preferences.

  • You will also start using key grammar such as subject pronouns, present tense verbs (regular and some common irregular ones), gender and number agreement, and basic sentence structure.

The course places a strong emphasis on speaking and listening, supported by reading and writing activities to reinforce learning. Each session includes cultural insights into life in Spanish-speaking countries, including festivals, food, and social customs, to help deepen your understanding of the language in context.

By the end of the course, you will be able to hold simple conversations, understand basic spoken Spanish, and feel more confident using the language in real-life situations.
