Florence was the Jersey girl who married Jesse Boot, of Boots the Chemist, in 1886. Florence Rowe would become Lady Trent and, after she and Jesse settled in Jersey in the 1920s, one of the Island’s best-known benefactors, following on from her philanthropic work in Nottingham. The 2-part online event, close to International Women’s Day, celebrates this remarkable woman (and others) with presentations from Jersey Heritage and Nottingham Women’s History Group.
