Inspiring Better Health: Health Information Week 2023 events

Health Information Week is taking place from 3-9 July 2023

We are joining in to inspire better health and promote easy access to high-quality health information which can have a huge impact on staying healthy and managing illness effectively, giving a better quality of life. 

We'll be offering plenty of activities over the course of the week to help you look after yourself and your health. All events free unless stated otherwise.

East Leake Children's Centre Information Session. 1.30pm - 4pm. The Children's Centre will be discussing what they do, and answering your questions about child sleep, weaning, immunisations, toileting and more. Free, no need to book, just drop-in!
Eastwood Children's Reading group 3.45pm - 4.30pm Health themed stories. No booking - turn up after school! Parents/Carers must stay in library. Places of Welcome 2pm - 3.30pm - join in for support, with a cuppa and a chat. Summer Reading Challenge Launch Day! Pick up your Summer Reading Challenge 2023: Ready, Set Read! collector folder and join the activities, including the Treasure Hunt. Health themed colouring in for adults and children - including Mandalas for therapeutic colouring! Pick up physical and mental health books and resources from our displays, alongside healthy eating/recipe books and other relevant resources. You can also find information and displays about the Summer Reading Challenge Ready, Set, Read - promoting reading and activity!
Forest Town Listen to our talk: Physio for new mums Guess the weight of the fruit, and grab a tantalising read from our book displays.
Huthwaite Join us for Fruity Friday, 3:15pm - 4:15pm. Get stuck in to our children's craft and take part in a fruity treasure hunt! Free, no booking required.
Keyworth Children's Centre Information Session. 1.30pm - 4pm. The Children's Centre will be discussing what they do, and answering your questions about child sleep, weaning, immunisations, toileting and more. Free, no need to book, just drop-in!
Mansfield Central Display table with Wellbeing  and Memory Lane bags.  Table with goody bags and information leaflets from Cancer Research UK.  Display board for SVS Services and information leaflets as well. NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Talking Therapies from 9.30am.  Map reading session in the morning.  More Leisure Community Trust talking to people.  Homestart Mansfield from 9.30am.  Alzheimer's Society from 10.30am to talk to people. Chat to a Community Health and Wellbeing Co-ordinator from 9.30am. MySightNotts will also be visiting with an Eye Clinic Liaison Officer to do eye checks, and you can try out the equipment! Join Carolyn Hallam from 10.00am for fun and relaxing Chair Yoga Sessions. Transforming Notts Together will also be joining our Places of Welcome from 10.30am to sit and talk. Join ABL Health from 10-2pm with smoothie bike health props and healthy activities.
Newark Active4today will be offering free body MOT's and wellbeing information at Newark Library on Wednesday 5th July! No need to book, just drop in between 10.30am and 2.30pm. Free 3 day pass to Active4today venues for all who attend!
Skegby and Stanton Hill Join us for fantastic fruit tasting! Come along and try different types of fruit, then pick up a recipe card to create healthy meals at home! Free, no booking required. 3:30pm - 4:30pm.
Sutton in Ashfield Baby Rattle Rhyme and Roll 10:15-10:45, followed by information and advice from the local Children's Centre. Free, no booking required. Fruit-themed storytime with complimentary fruit provided, 10:45-11:45am. Free, no booking required. Places of Welcome 10:30am - 12pm with special needle felting demonstation from Soul Crafts at 11am. Come along and destress, while learning a new skill! Free, no booking required, materials provided. Parachute Play: Join us for an exciting children's session at 11am. West Bridgford 10am - 3pm. The National Water Sports Centre Holme Pierrepont will be visiting to promote health and wellbeing, including their 7 day free trial at their gym overlooking the Regatta Lake and the Holme Pierrepont Country Park.
Worksop Mindfulness Monday, 3:30pm - 5pm. Mindfulness session for children and young people. Your Health Your Way, 12pm - 3pm, come along to meet our friendly Health Advisors! Have a go on the smoothie bike, try on the beer goggled, get some ideas for healthy eating and treat yourself to a free health check. Rattle, Rhyme and Roll session, 2pm, no booking required.
