Work Experience

With regret, due to the current Coronavirus situation we are suspending  our work experience programme for the foreseeable future.

Once the situation changes nationally we will re-introduce the programme and welcome applications at that time

At Inspire we offer a limited number of unpaid short Work Experience placements every year, typically up to a maximum of 5 days, which are open to:

  • Young people in statutory education (Year 10)
  • Post 16 students
  • Undergraduates
  • Job Seekers
  • Duke of Edinburgh students*

*DofE placements maybe longer and spread over a period by agreement.

Placements will be in either:

  • Libraries / Nottinghamshire Archives: Focusing on developing customer service skills and supporting service delivery in our busy libraries
  • Inspire Offices: Focussing on business administration and supporting our services
  • Music Teaching*: Focussing on observing and supporting music teaching in schools

Our work placements will give you:

  • A ‘taster’ for the job and help to boost your confidence and provide a real learning opportunity
  • Hands on experience that can help you get a foot in the job market
  • A chance to experience working in a new field if you are thinking to change career

For those people seeking an ongoing volunteering experience at Inspire – please see our Volunteering section for more information.
