Discover the beauty of glass painting in this creative beginner-friendly course focused on floral designs. Glass Painting Course – FLOWERS introduces you to the vibrant world of painting on transparent surfaces, where light, colour, and design come together to create stunning decorative pieces.
Throughout the course, you will learn how to work with glass paints and outliners while exploring flat surfaces. Step by step, you’ll be guided through techniques for outlining, filling, blending, and layering colours to create elegant floral patterns.
No prior experience is needed—just a love for creativity and flowers. By the end of the course, you will have created your own beautiful glass-painted pieces, perfect for decoration or gifting, along with the confidence to continue exploring this unique art form.
Through a series of enjoyable projects, demonstrations, and guided exercises, you will be introduced to the fundamentals sketching and painting on glass while developing the confidence to express yourself artistically.
By the end of this 6-week course, learners will be able to:
Understand the basics of glass painting, including tools, materials, and types of glass paints and outliners.
Prepare and handle glass surfaces safely, including cleaning and setting up flat surfaces for painting.
Create floral designs suitable for glass surfaces, using simple sketching and tracing techniques.
Apply glass painting techniques, including outlining, filling, shading, blending, and layering colours.
Work confidently on flat objects.
Develop finishing and sealing skills, ensuring durability and a professional-quality finish for decorative use.
What you need to bring to the course:
Sketching paper pad, graphite pencils, glass paint, outliner for glass painting (black) paint brushes, water based varnish

Living in England
To book and join one of our courses, you must live in England permanently and either:
Live inside the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) area (Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire)
or
Live outside the devolved areas listed below
You cannot enrol if you live in these devolved areas:

Residency Requirements (Additional Information)
If you live in the UK on a visa, we’ll need evidence of your visa to confirm funding. You can upload this when applying, and you’ll need to complete a short questionnaire.
Some exceptions include:
Your visa must last until after your course ends.
Asylum seekers must have lived in the UK for at least 6 months while their claim is being processed.
You are supported by your local authority under Section 23C or 23CA of the Children Act 1989, or under the Care Act 2014.
Anyone who does not meet the funding criteria would need to pay full course fees.
