About this course

This course is for complete beginners and is ideal for people who want to start learning Spanish from scratch or refresh their basic knowledge. No prior knowledge is required!

You will get the chance to learn a new and useful skill in a fun and relaxed environment. This course is aimed at learning the basics of Spanish communication. You will cover the four skills of language learning: speaking, listening, reading and writing. You will learn the basics of Spanish pronunciation and grammar, and how to use it effectively, in a fun and relaxed environment. You will also be able to learn more about Spanish culture and traditions.

You will cover basic topics such as the alphabet, greetings & introductions, giving personal information and telling the time. You will start from scratch, so no prior knowledge required!

This is the first part of a 3-part course. Part 2 will continue in January. By the end of this course, you will be able to: Pronounce the Spanish alphabet correctly Greet others and introduce yourself Give other basic personal information like your nationality, etc. Talk about your job Say the numbers, ask for and say telephone numbers. Talk about their family and give personal information. Understand a bit more about Spanish culture and traditions

Residency in England

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must be living in England permanently and live outside of the devolved areas listed below or live within the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) devolved area (Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire).

  • Cambridgeshire and Peterborough

  • Greater London

  • Greater Manchester

  • Liverpool City Region

  • Newcastle Upon Tyne, North Tyneside and Northumberland

Residency Eligibility – other criteria

If you are living in the UK on a visa we will require evidence of this in order to be funded for the course, you can upload this evidence when you apply for the course. (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

Some exceptions may apply for example

  • Your visa expiry date must be beyond the end of your course

  • Asylum seekers must have lived in the UK for 6 months or longer while their claim is being considered by the Home Office

  • You are receiving local authority support under section 23C or section 23CA of the Children Act 1989 or the Care Act 2014

Any learner who is not funded full cost fees would apply to these courses.
