About this course

This course is taught by a professional artist and guides you through the process of creating an expressive city scape composition in acrylics, with tuition provided through a mixture of demonstrations and exercises according to your needs. The course will help you to explore the boundaries between representation and abstraction. ThIs course is suitable for beginners or advanced.

The course focuses on the theme of urban landscape based on the constant construction and deconstruction of the elements, the balanced play of lights and shadows or the subtle gradient that gives the frantic pace of the city. The principles of drawing and painting are progressively practiced with techniques, including drawing composition and perspective. You will discover how to apply contrast, colour theory, and tonal values to create beautiful expressive compositions using vigorous brushstrokes.  By the end of the course, you will be more confident in visually editing an image in your own way. You will complete at least one work on canvas.

•How to sketch a composition

•Simplify and separate tonal values into areas of light and shadow,

•How to use contrast, warm and cool colours effectively
