Newark Buttermarket

After extensive renovations by Newark and Sherwood District Council, the Inspire team invite you to join their official opening celebrations.

Join the Inspire Culture, Learning and Libraries team on Saturday 11 March, between 10am and 12pm, to celebrate and see the exciting new learning and event spaces. Inspire has a new home on the mezzanine floor of the historical building, after Newark and Sherwood District Council completed extensive renovation works at the iconic Buttermarket last year.

Working with Newark and Sherwood District Council, who own the building, the space is now a lively hub for learning, creativity, and exploration, and is set to be a valued venue for educational and cultural activities in the heart of Newark town centre.

Inspire bring a wealth of Adult Learning courses for the community to boost their skills and gain new hobbies, alongside three brand-new learning spaces in Newark Town Centre with fully accessible state of the art facilities and brilliant tutors.

The opening event comes after the team opened doors for courses in Autumn 2022, to great success.

Clare Janes, Centre Manager, said:

“I’ve been thrilled at how fast the word is getting out about this fantastic new facility. We are already starting to get maximum numbers on some of our courses and many learners are taking up multiple learning opportunities, and recommending it to their family and friends, when they see the variety of courses we have on offer.”

Members of the public can drop in between 10am and 12pm on Saturday 11 March, take part in spring-themed crafts; meet fun characters (including a giant daffodil!); find out more about upcoming courses, groups, and events; and even get free refreshments.
