Join Andrew Graves, acclaimed poet, spoken word artist and creator of one-person show God Save the Teen as he shares his knowledge, ideas and writing tips to help you turn your poetry into spoken narratives.
In this lively and practical in person workshop, you'll learn how to emphasise storytelling and character, and understand how you might shape your work into satisfying live routines and set pieces, which can enhance a reading, performance, or a developing show.
You’ll leave this exciting workshop armed with a range of techniques to help you develop and perform your poetry with increased confidence.
About Andrew Graves
Andrew Graves has appeared on TV and radio, including BBC Radio 6 Music’s Cerys Mathews Show, BBC Inside Out and the documentary Evidently John Cooper Clarke. His third poetry collection Not Dancing with Ingrid Pitt was published by Burning Eye Books in 2021. He has performed with the likes of Sleaford Mods, John Hegley and Henry Normal and has been commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery, BBC Radio 4, Edinburgh International Literature Festival and National Poetry Day.
