Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training

The certificate in Education and Training is designed to allow teachers to develop practical teaching skills which reflect the context in which they teach. It is aimed at those wanting to teach adults in colleges, community settings, or teaching as a volunteer.

You will learn skills to enable you to boost your career in teaching and learning. You will learn how to prepare and deliver lessons which are inclusive. You will develop skills in giving constructive feedback so all learners can achieve their full potential.

The practical assessment requires 30 hours of teaching practice and 3 formal teaching observations.

Eligibility

You must hold a level 3 or equivalent in the subject matter you are teaching.  A good standard of English, Maths and ITC.  

The course will be delivered over one academic year (38 weeks).

You will have to complete 5 mandatory assignments and 1-3 optional units.

This qualification will allow you to progress to the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.
