This course is designed to immerse adult learners in the world of traditional illustration techniques while focusing on narrative development for children's books. Through a diverse range of media and processes, learners will explore the art of storytelling visually, developing their own authentic visual language. From pen and ink to watercolour, they will experiment with various mediums to bring stories to life on the paper. Emphasis will be placed on fostering creativity, honing technical skills, and understanding the nuances of visual storytelling specific to children's literature.
By the end of the course, learners will have developed a diverse portfolio of children's book illustrations and a deeper understanding of the creative process behind visual storytelling.
