About this course

This introductory course is for people who are complete beginners to crochet. 

It will show you how to hold a Crochet hook and yarn/wool, how to perform a variety of basic crochet stitches, such as single, double, treble and slip stitch, and an understanding of the different terminology used for English and American Crochet stitches, Crochet Hook Sizes, conversion for metric, US & UK.  

We will also cover the history of crochet. 


By the end of the course, you will show secure knowledge of how to perform holding a hook and yarn/wool and to do a variety of crochet stitches, such as single, double, treble and slip stitch. You will have an understanding of the history around crochet and be able to use the different terminology. 

 

You will need a crochet hook (size 4, 4.45 or 5), wool/yarn and a notepad and pen.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
