About this course

This short 3-week online course is the first of three stages designed to build your skills in Excel.  Starting with this Basics course these sessions will help you understand the navigation of Excel.  The next stages, Intermediate and Advanced, build you skills and knowledge of Excel.  You can study all three stages or just one.  All courses are designed to improve your employability.

Taking place online and in the evening- it will fit around your current work commitments.


Course Content

  • Formatting: getting the best of the ribbon
  • Formulas: add, average & totals
  • Functions: AutoSUM, absolute cell references, filter & sort
  • Creating graphs

By then end of this course, you will be able to set-up a spreadsheet, apply common formulas and filters and create graphs.


Who is it suitable for?

  • Learners on this basic level course should already be familiar with using a laptop and have access Microsoft Excel on their device.

As the course is online Learners will need access the internet and connect to Zoom.

Learners will also need an active email account as resources will be emailed throughout the course.

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

  • Complete the EVENTBRITE BOOKING.
  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

You should be redirected to the Inspire Online Enrolment Form after completing the Eventbrite booking.  If you are not redirected, please use the link supplied in the Eventbrite booking confirmation email.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
