About this course

What are the aims of the course? 

To equip learners with the skills needed to get back into the workplace. 


What will be covered on the course? 

Session 1: getting to work 

Reading timetables, understanding the 24H clock and duration. Useful transport apps and money saving tickets. 


Session 2: applying for a job 

Online forms, looking at different numerical data formats (DOB, dates). Listing previous employment chronologically. 


Session 3: budgeting 

The cost of getting to work and being at work eg. transport costs, childcare, lunch etc… Useful apps to help with budgeting. Understanding a wage slip.


What will learners achieve by the end of the course? 

Learners will be able to, 

Read a bus timetable by searching for a bus to arrive a designated time and place via an app. 

Fill in a simple online form with the correct data format. 

Create a personalised budget which includes transport, living and lunch costs. 


What skills or knowledge do learners already need to have to attend the course?  

This course is for people who don’t have a level 2 qualification in maths (GCSE C/4 or above). You will self-declare this on the enrolment form. 


Learners should bring a pen, paper/notepad and smartphone.

For those accessing a MULTIPLY course for the first time, a £10 shopping voucher will be awarded upon completion of the course. (At least 70% attendance at the sessions is required to be eligible)

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

  • Complete the EVENTBRITE BOOKING.
  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

You should be redirected to the Inspire Online Enrolment Form after completing the Eventbrite booking.  If you are not redirected, please use the link supplied in the Eventbrite booking confirmation email.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
