About this course

No idea how to support your child with their maths homework?

Have the the maths strategies used in school become a mystery?


If so, join our course designed for parents wanting to increase their numeracy skills in 

order to help their children and help with their own progression.


The course is delivered by our friendly tutors in a relaxed environment with other like-minded learners. You will gain practical ideas and hands-on maths ideas.

By the end of the course, you will be able to,

- use a range of addition and multiplication strategies

- build confidence with multiplication and division calculations

- develop your mental maths

- understand how to break down maths word problems to know what ‘maths’ to use

- access online resources and games you and your child can play at home


On completion of this course, you may like to consider enrolling on the Functional Skills Maths (level 2) course. Having a Level 2 (GCSE C or above) is a great asset on your CV and could widen your job opportunities. 

This course is for people who don’t already have a level 2 qualification in maths (GCSE C/4 or above) or do but are not confident in using maths at this level.

This is an adult only course.

Booking your place and fee information

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

  • Complete the EVENTBRITE BOOKING.
  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

You should be redirected to the Inspire Online Enrolment Form after completing the Eventbrite booking.  If you are not redirected, please use the link supplied in the Eventbrite booking confirmation email.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:

  • Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield
