About this course

This course will introduce you to playing the keyboard. You will acquire the skills necessary to play different notes on a keyboard and read notated music. No experience is needed to participate on this course.

By the end of the course, you will :

Be able to play tunes with simple pitches and rhythms
Be able to play to a pulse, both imagined and with a metronome
Recognise and musically interpret in performance time and key structures
Recognise and interpret in performance simple aspects of Western music notation
Recognise and musically articulate in performance simple dynamic, expression, structure and direction terms

Piano/Keyboard - You can hire instruments from Inspire music for a small fee. Please see the website for more information

As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course. Zoom will be used for the live sessions and the link will be sent to you once your enrolment has been completed.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
