Our experienced friendly tutors will support you to work towards a City and Guilds maths qualification - at a level that is right for you. You will learn a range of techniques to help you solve number problems in everyday life. The 18-weekly lessons are delivered online so you will need a laptop or tablet and access to the internet. Your exam, in week 19 (July 2025), will take place at one of our Nottinghamshire libraries.
The course is broken down into accessible units with examples and practice questions linked to everyday life. Units covered included:
Number: using calculations, decimals, percentages, fractions and ratios.
Shape, space and measure: working with measures; calculating area and volume; understanding plan and elevation; using scale and co-ordinates.
Handling data: calculating averages; working with probability; using and drawing graphs and charts.
In addition, we will also cover exam techniques to help you achieve your qualification.
As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course. It is useful to have your own calculator, pen and notepad. A textbook appropriate to your level will be provided to you on completion of your online initial assessment.
Complete the booking enquiry on this page which will send you an enrolment form to complete via email. Your application will then be checked to confirm you qualify for a funded place on the course.
Teams will be used for the live sessions and the link will be sent to you once your application has been approved.
By enrolling on this accredited qualification, you agree to,
1. Attend every week.
2. Join the online session from a quiet undisturbed study area.
3. Complete homework set.
4. Sit the exam at a local library within Nottinghamshire.
