About this course

As the cost of living is going up and up, Multiply has designed a course to help you save a few extra pennies each month. Over the course of the 4 sessions, you will build your confidence with numbers and find ways to save money. 


What are the aims of the course?


The course is spilt into four key areas where we can all save a little bit of money each month. The course also offers the opportunity for you and your fellow learners to share your budgeting tips and tricks.


What will be covered on the course?


Session 1: Saving money - utility bills 

• How to calculate usage (kWh) 

• Best ways to save money on gas and electricity 

• Struggling to pay – what help is availability? 

 

Session 2: Saving money - broadband 

• Understanding different broadband deals – the calculations 

• Using comparison sites – filtering & sorting deals 

• How to save money on a broadband deal 

 

Session 3: Saving money - discounts 

• Calculating the cost of bulk buying 

• Deals & vouchers – understanding percentages and the money saving 

 

Session 4: Saving money - benefits 

• How to use the gov.uk site (inputting numerical information in the correct format) 

• What savings & benefits are available 


This course is for people who don’t have a level 2 qualification in maths (GCSE C/4 or above). You will self-declare this on the enrolment form.


Please bring paper, pen and smartphone if you can.

Booking your place and fee information

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

  • Complete the EVENTBRITE BOOKING.
  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

You should be redirected to the Inspire Online Enrolment Form after completing the Eventbrite booking.  If you are not redirected, please use the link supplied in the Eventbrite booking confirmation email.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
