Do you love crime fiction? Would you like to know about the history of the genre? Have you ever wondered how a crime story is written, or wanted to write your own? If so, this online course will introduce you to many aspects of writing crime fiction, including research, creating characters, dialogue and plotting. There will also be opportunities to engage in creative writing.
Suitable for anyone aged 19+ with an interest in crime fiction, including would-be crime writers.
Discover the history of crime fiction – from the first detective story through to today’s themes and trends - and how to write it through a series of illustrated presentations from a published crime writer. There will also be videos, discussion and creative writing exercises as we look at what makes a great crime novel.

As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course. Zoom will be used for the live sessions and the link will be sent to you once your enrolment has been completed.
