This qualification aims to raise awareness of mental health and a range of mental health conditions.

This is a knowledge-only qualification; therefore no real work environment placement is required, learners may find it useful to have completed Level 1 in this qualification before undergoing the Level 2.

To be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness learners are required to successfully complete 10 mandatory units. Please note: you are required to attend Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays each week for the duration of the course.

Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to:

  • Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Working in Mental Health
  • Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia
  • Level 2 and 3 Certificates in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care
  • Level 2 and 3 Diplomas in Clinical Healthcare Support
  • Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • Level 3 Award and Diploma in Counselling Skills.

Learners will require access to an electronic device such as a laptop, tablet or smart phone and internet access to enable them to join classes on zoom. 

Our course fees:

1) FREE - if you earn less than £17,004.00 annual gross salary or are on a means-tested benefit.

2) PAYMENT HELP AVAILABLE - if you earn more than £17,004.00 (annual gross salary) but are on a low-income, we might be able to help pay part or all of your course fees. Email: learning@inspireculture.org.uk for an application form or if you have any questions.

3) CO-FUNDED - if you are on a higher-income, the government will pay approximately half of your course fees. 


To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

  • Complete the EVENTBRITE BOOKING.
  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

You should be redirected to the Inspire Online Enrolment Form after completing the Eventbrite booking.  If you are not redirected, please use the link supplied in the Eventbrite booking confirmation email.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been a resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in the UK with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Greater Manchester, Greater London, Liverpool City Region, Tees Valley, West Midlands and West of England.
