About this course

This course is a beginner guide to decorating cakes and cupcakes. 

You will learn skills and techniques using buttercream to pipe a variety of different shapes to add depth and texture to cake and cupcakes.   

By attending this course, you will learn the technique for a ruffled swirl, the classic shell, and other useful techniques to create beautiful decorations to enhance cakes and cupcakes.  We will cover: 

• How to colour buttercream and create depth 

• How to pipe a ruffled swirl  

• How to create a classic shell

  • Small palette knife  
  • Spoon  
  • Piping bags  
  • Scissors  
  • Colours of personal choice  
  • Nozzles: 
  • 1 M – Rose  
  • 2D- rosette 
  • 22 small star domes  
  • 4B lots of teeth cut out- medium size start shape domes 
  • 1 E-Rosette  
  • 124 petal tip- Wave   
  • Please note you do not have to bring all these nozzles in, you can bring any you have to experiment creatively.  
  • Note pad and pen

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
