About this course

Building on the foundations of Creative Writing for Beginners, this course gives you the opportunity to both practice skills you have acquired, as well as tackle new activities and types of creative writing. The course will also give you more scope to practice your feedback skills, and to start to use your reading as part of your writing. This is an intermediate course. To get the most from the course, it is advisable to have done some creative writing before, such as Inspire’s Writing for Beginners or First Steps in Creative Writing.

During this course, we will cover:

  • Reading as a writer
  • Developing feedback skills and being able to use others’ feedback to develop your work
  • Techniques to develop rounded characters
  • Tackling convincing dialogue
  • Writing short pieces that are developed into longer stories
  • Developing your writing practice by planning how you want to develop as a writer

Learners should bring a pen and notepad, preferably A4 notebook
